United Methodist Men
Every Monday at 7:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall the United Methodist Men’s Fellowship extends a welcome to all men to join us for breakfast. We serve orange juice, hot pancakes, fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage and delightful coffee. The devotional program and meeting following breakfast promote a time for networking and friendships. Afterwards, for those who wish, there are opportunities to participate in various activities that maintain and beautify our church, and advance our outreach into the community giving us a congenial and rewarding start to the week.
Fundraisers & Events
On the first Saturday of each month from September through April the UMM cook and serve a delicious Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The cost is only $5.00 for adults, kids 12 and under eat free. It includes our secret recipe, light as a feather pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice, coffee and tea.
The UMM consider providing financial assistance to our Church, community, and different mission projects an important Christian service. Contributions have been made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, The Salvation Army, Jim Russo Prison Ministry, Sparce, Loveland Center, The Methodist Children’s Home, Meals on Wheels Roy Stiff’s Campus Crusades, and to various groups and programs within our church.
Each week our congregation has the opportunity to donate non-perishable food items for the South County Food Pantry. The UMM deliver the donations every Monday. Donation containers are located in the Narthex and the Fellowship Hall.
The UMM for many years has run an aluminum can collection and recycling program. The cans are collected in the large bins behind the Fellowship Hall, crushed, and the aluminum sold for scrap. The proceeds are distributed on a yearly basis to many local and national charities. Your cans help these worthwhile organizations, and contribute to a cleaner environment.
United Methodist Men shall be a creative supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek daily His will. Our Primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships. The major concerns are:
To encourage knowledge of and support for the total mission of The United Methodist Church.
To engage in evangelism by sharing the fullness of the gospel in its personal and social dimensions.
To clarify and speak to the identity and role of the man in contemporary society.
To seek commitment to discipleship.
To study and become familiar with The United Methodist Church, its organization, doctrines, and beliefs.
To cooperate with all units of United Methodist Men in obtaining these objectives through district, conference, jurisdiction, and church wide goals.
