What to expect
All of our Sunday services are bi-lingual, and include readings, songs, and a sermon/Message in both English and Spanish. There is also a dedicated time for prayer, including the open sharing of prayer requests.
Music
Our services combine elements of traditional and contemporary worship, with beautiful hymns, powerful praise songs, performances by our Coro Latino, and a Special Performance by a guest musician every Sunday. If you like music, you’re in the right place!
What to Wear
At Van Nuys UMC, we care about the person, not the clothes. Feel free to dress however you’d like! We have some members who wear suits/dresses to worship, but many of us wear jeans and a t-shirt. Come as you are!
Children’s Activities
While children and youth typically stay in Worship for the first part of the service, they’re invited to leave the sanctuary during the sermon for Children’s Church/Youth Bible Study, where they can have fun and deepen their faith with activities designed specifically for them.
Of course, kids and teens are welcome to stay for the full service as well—it’s their choice!
Food & Fellowship Hour
One of the benefits of being a multi-cultural church: The food! Join us after the service for a time of fellowship and refreshment. Every Sunday is something different, from cookies/pan dulce to delicious homemade meals—and of course, coffee!
