The Van Nuys UMC Music Academy offers free music lessons for young people. We believe music is one of God’s greatest gifts, so we encourage young people to discover the joy of playing an instrument for themselves.

Whether they’re already familiar with an instrument or just getting started, our instructors help kids from Late Elementary through High School develop their musical talents. All lessons are taught by experienced musicians who freely volunteer their time and talents, allowing us to offer lessons free of cost.

How Lessons Work

Lessons take place at the church, during or after the Sunday service. We offer lessons for a variety of instruments, including Guitar, Violin, and Piano.

In addition to lessons, students regularly have performance opportunities in the church, from Sunday Services to special events like our annual Benefit Concert for the Spanish American Institute, which raises money for college scholarships.
